Ayla’s love of acupuncture began over 14 years ago when she first became a patient herself. The power and beauty of this medicine led her to the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, Texas, where she received specialized training in acupuncture and the related therapies of moxibustion, cupping, guasha, Asian bodywork, internal martial arts and Chinese herbal medicine. Now, as a practitioner, she has the pleasure of watching patients heal and cheer up right in front of her eyes. Ayla feels strongly that Chinese medicine can teach us all how to take better care of ourselves. The study and practice of Chinese medicine is a life-long path that she is excited and honored to pursue.
Ayla originally founded East Coast Acupuncture & Herbs as part of a group practice at the Chestnut Street Wellness Center because she believed that health and wellbeing are not the property of one system alone. Holistic healthcare, movement, bodywork, and a relationship with our community all work in concert to help us on our paths to wellness. Ayla is currently on sabbatical.
